Description

The specimen shows portion of liver which is not cirrhotic, but does contain a fairly sharply
demarcated nodular tumour mass in which there are areas of haemorrhage. The heart shows
fungating tumour on one cusp of the mitral valve.
		 History

This woman presented at the age of 18 years with a four-month history of
thrombophlebitis migrans. At autopsy the tumour was demonstrated to be a hepatoblastoma with
secondary deposits on the mitral valve; microscopy of other organs showed widespread lymphatic
permeation.
